Glad it is fixed. You can now get on with business as usual. As for skidng logs I don't remember a thing about the tractor you're using for this but how you hook the chain makes a big difference in the work for the tractor. We use an H to skid most of the logs we make for lumber and some are even 20plus feet long. IF they get much bigger than that we get a bigger tractor. Most pull out pretty good. I also try to hook so the log has to roll a bit as the chain comes tight so as to make them start easier. It also helps with working them around some of the trees in the woods so the bottoms are not scarred up as much. Skinding in about 6-12 inches of snow make for nice clean dirt free logs to saw.
