Hello, I'm brand new to this forum but I read through this thread as I began to acquaint myself with the vibe of it.
I want to add only one comment. I grew up on a small farm just a few feet above sea level in North Carolina. I now live in central Virginia and when we travel home to see my mother I pass many fields that are now filled with solar panels.
I once told my daughters this,
"A couple of hundred years ago men with crosscut saws, axes, mules, horses, strong backs and sheer determination set out into these piney forests. They worked, sweated, and bled to clear the trees, pull the stumps, and improve the land so that from it life and sustenance might be had. Now many generations later concrete stumps, growing a forest of non-biodegradable, toxic, inefficient technology, have been planted to replace the trees that were cleared originally."
It is a shame. We can generate enough power for our country without farm fields but we cannot say the same of food.
