I'd say there is huge difference between solar panels on productive farm land vs corn grown for ethanol. In the event that part of the country suffers a devastating crop loss the ethanol corn can, super easy, be diverted to human or livestock usage. How long and how many dollars would be necessary to tear out a solar farm and put it back into production? If people want solar, fine, but valuable farm land should be sacrificed just to make someone feel green. There are millions of acres of roof tops in it US, until all those roof tops a covered, farm land should be off limits. Many of the government acres, owned by the government should be covered first also.
