Knowing how to navigate the choice of parts sources has been long a consideration. For a common Weasler PTO shaft it has always been cheaper to go to NAPA or a parts store versus a dealer. True whether a machine is JD or some other brand. As far as tractors go I would say finding parts for a JD 3020 or 4030 will be easier than finding parts for an AC 185 or Oliver 1655 in the year 2023. I do stand by my original premise in that out of a group of different brands and models buy the one in the best condition of the group.
