The Department of Motor Vehicles DMT is called, MTO / Ministry of Transportation Ontario here. And like other jurisdictions they are constantly on the lookout for potential violations. Where I live, there are a lot of gravel pits, and these trucks are constantly hammering down the road in often very questionable trucks, and trying to make as many loads a day as possible. This draws a lot of attention to our area by the inspectors and they dont just focus on Gravel trucks. While they are doing blitz inspections they will pull livestock trailers pulled by pickups, 18 wheelers with grain trailers and feed trucks. And it doesnt matter if the trucks only run at harvest and never get more than two thousand miles per year, same standards apply. So now we are starting to see 5th wheel 40 grain trailers on Joe-Dogs being pulled by farm tractors at harvest time hauling grain into local elevators.
