If it has a dual tank switch be careful its easy to break the switch mounts in the panel cover. I do not pull on the harness connector I take the screws out that mount the switch to the panel. The shift indicator is the same : (.
Up to 1986 All the plastic will be rotten and brittle its a ford thang. A simple bulb replacement turns into a nightmare, its like its made out of a sateen cracker. I have not had that issue as much on 87 and up.
