The head is a 6 ft. I wish I could find an eight. I had a nice eight years ago that we used for barley. I sold it when we moved to WI. I am having a few problems with this head as it a very early one and the sickle speed is to slow and is doing a raged job of cutting. The guards are good and I installed a new knife. Going to have to look into changing some pulley sizes. Tom
