We have 2 27 foot bins around 10,000 bushel each. No barrier and no problem with spoilage except around the edge by the bin wall from moisture getting under the bin edge. They were this way for decades. I put full air floors in them with no spoilage in the lase 3 years on one and close to 10 years on the other. Both bins have been in use since the 80's one was built in the early 70's. I did change the bottom ring on the newer bin when we put the air floor in that one. The bolts at the base ring had rusted to the point the ends of the bolts were pointed. A Stormor bin. The other is a Butler bin. If you have the bins up off the ground like they should be I would not bother with a barrier if they are well drained under them. I think If I built another bin I would raise them up so the unload auger will clear the hopper of the transport auger and would put tile under it to drain any water that might accumulate under the cement.
