You must have the updated square glass filters to see air in them. I been away from those tractors to long I cannot remember if they always ran with no air in them at all. If you keep getting air in them something is wrong with your fuel supply lines or the supply pump, something is letting the air in. You can pull the return fitting out to check for it being clogged. Another option is to keep a screw driver with you to loosen the timing window on the pump fastened by 2 screws. Whenever it starts to loose power and the engine RPM drops loosen that plate so you have a trickle of.a stream. If just relieving a little pressure in the pump housing makes it come back to speed then you have the problem Tim described.
