I bought a 1941 B cheap on an online auction. The only comment about it was tranny is trash. Got it started, runs nice, drives nice, does not smoke. The only thing wrong was the PTO would not turn off. The PTO lever would just swing back and forth. After removing the back cover and PTO shaft I could see the lever forks were not engaged to shift it in and out of gear. All I had to do was lift up the PTO lever it is just spring loaded down and while holding it up swing it one way or the other then let it go back down. That puts the shifting fork back into place to move the collar back and forth to shift it in and out of gear. Try that, it may be an easy fix without taking it apart. Good luck!
