I wish I'd been out there to video when he was breaking the trails. Way more impressive. Watched him drive over a waist-high snowbank that the township snow plow left... just crawled right up and over. The trails are mud by the end of the season. He started with a 7710 4x4, but that left knee deep ruts all over. The smaller tractors with halftracks, pulling the stoneboat, leave the trails in nice shape. We tap 650-700 trees on about 20 acres. Could easily push it over 1000, but the 650-700 range is as much as any of us want to tackle. Plus, a good collection day can max out his storage capacity, even when he starts the boiler immediately. He finds other uses for the tractors, but hauling sap is the main excuse for having these two.
