Interesting piece. Really nice looking pieces can be made from material that would otherwise go in wood heaters but I pulled back on building them when I realized how hard modern glue is on cutting edges. I bought a large belt sander just for glue ups because glue lines were ruining hss planer knives and requiring carbides be resharpened sooner. Besides,it's especially satifing to watch burls and knots reveal secrets while being worked. I still enjoy glued turnings for recipients that understand and appreciate limitations of hide glue. If one of my pieces turned out as beautiful as those from Larry's place I'd spend the following day sitting and admiring it.
