Is that cup spot welded to the bottom? Ever silver soldered before? Clean it up good and you'll probably find its got copper brazing between the pieces. Buy one stick of 56% silver solder and some good silver solder paste, and use either a Mapp or acetylene torch (propane might do it). You have to get it almost red hot, then the silver solder will flow really well, right down into the joint.
