It doesn't mean much but if you have a stump almost flush with the ground the angle end on the sides of the bush hog if you position the mower with that angle on the stump it will prevent the blades from hitting it. Thing of it is if you turn the tractor the slightest little bit the mower will fall off the stump and the blades will hit anyway. Better to put a flag on the stumps and mow around them.
