I wouldn't expect much "impulse buying" going on with your average piece of new farm equipment these days. Not with the average price tag well into 6-figure range. Every purchase has to be planned out months or years in advance.
Dealers don't want to keep that stuff in inventory anyway. It's an awful amount of money to have tied up. Compact tractors are easy enough to move, a $250,000 corn planter may not be.
Back in the days of 4-row corn planters EVERY purchase was an impulse buy. You ran what you had until you were spending more time fixing it than using it, then you went to the dealer and picked out a new one. A few thousand dollars was a lot easier to come by than hundreds of thousands.
