I dont care about Pete. I dont understand his decision but its his to make. What I dont understand is the government's approach except for the political opportunities. I have not seen the RR say they were going to abandon the site and just walk away. Years ago I was an On Scene Commander for the Alabama Dept of Environmental Mgmt. RR didnt walk away from derailments back then, I suspect they still dont. Do they want to pay for toe aches forever, no. Lets face it many people see things like this as their ship coming in.
