I watched some of the Daytona 24 hour race. They have some electric, or hybrid anyhow, vehicle classes now. The differences were pretty amazing. Have to look at a light on the side of it, if it isnt green you cant touch the car. Fire fighting them is quite different, fortunately I dont think any burst into flames. Didnt look like they could repair them, the ones that died just got pushed off to the side - if the light on the side was green - and everyone just shrugged instead of repairing, as it could be any of thousands of wires. Im sure some of it was growing pains as with anything new, but it was pretty clear that class wasnt racing to go fast, just on the track hoping they would be the one that didnt break....
