My experience the ether has to be warm and the warmer the tire the better. I find most of these new tires get porous and go to leaking in a couple three years so I just tube them in the first place. I also have some rim/wheels that the lip has been bent bad enough I was told I was junk. I just use a big adjustable wrench on the lip and bend them back in place if I need to I will use a hammer on some of them. Those usually not hold a bead without leaking even with sealer on it so with the tube it works fine. A bead setter made from a 2 LBS propane tank works well for seating beads even on semi tires. I made one with 1-1/4or 1-1/2 pipe for the air to come out of just flattened the end with a sledge then screwed the valve nipples and all together then used the back side of the Tee for the air chuck to go on to for filling.
