There are numerous ways engine horsepower is lost on its way to the drawbar, including rolling resistance. But the big one is wheel slip, particularly in lower gears. All other things being equal, a heavier tractor will have less wheel slip than a lighter one. But in the end, what counts is how much power is delivered to the drawbar. And the Nebraska tests clearly show the 5010 has over a third more drawbar horsepower than the 4020 in every gear. It's silly to claim a stock 4020 can out-pull a stock 5010.
