I have three tractors with the one wire Delco, all three charge right away after starting. All three have a very slight current draw with engine off, not a problem IF they only set unused up to two or three weeks. Any longer and the ground cable is pulled off or the ground disconnect is turned off. My 560D has two batteries, and one time it set in the shed unused for four months, batteries were completely dead as I forgot to turn off the ground switch. They charged back up OK, and I remember to use the switch now.
