Deere is just fine. Just because you had a few problems doesn't mean they're all bad. I don't know about their tractors past the '70s, but the two-cylinders were sturdy brutes that could take a lot of punishment. There was a unstyled A that spent it's working life with a man who didn't change the oil for 5 years and when he did he poured in oil that had a skim of dust and a few chicken feathers. The A served faithfully under rough treatment and abuse.
