Each engine has it's own block heater. Cars and trucks have frost plug type, where the frost plug is removed and a heater is bolted in place. On a V8 you can have one on each bank of cylinders for fast warm up. I have the same style on the side of the block of the 2090 Case. Older tractors have the external "tank style" heaters that circulate the hot coolant through the block. The top of the engine is warm to the touch by the time I turn the key to start up the Massey or the JD 2140.

If impossible to place tractor under cover, be sure to cover air stack and exhaust pipe. Drain radiator and engine block. To avoid gum content collections, drain both fuel tanks and carburetor. Leave radiator and fuel caps slightly loose to protect gaskets. Block tractor up to remove weight from tires and to keep tires from contact with moist floor.
