If you are planning to start an old diesel in a Canadian winter you better have a block (coolant) heater on it or else some other means of pre-heating. Anything I use in winter gets plugged in to pre heat before I'll try starting it in winter. Ether cans last a long time on this farm. My 730 Case has the 12 volt electric intake manifold heater and that makes the difference of night and day when it comes to starting even on a cool day in spring or fall.
