There is one thing I think a lot of the posters are missing, The Ford rims are spinout type with rails attached, NOT the double bevil rim that a lot tractors would take and the double bevel rims would be readiable, The Ford spin out and possibly Massey Fergusion might be the only tractors those rims
would fit I think I heard those spinout rims were not made years ago and only way to
do things was to get a flat base rim and have those rails cut off the bad
rim and welded to the new rim. Not something easily gotten done so the
spinout rims the only option is repair or if you are luckey to find a good
used rim. And if you could find that spinout rim new the cost would be way
higher than the double bevial rim that I understand Deere and IHC used and
what all tractors used that double bevel I have no idea, I do know not many
did use the spin out type of rim. So that would be a very big consideration
an being able to get other rims for destroyed rims for the Fords in either
the 28 for the 4000 that is a low tractor or the 4000-4100 high utility or 4200 Row crop that use
38 rims. And we do not know what size rims the poster is looking at. so the
ones that are saying the rims are easy to get may not be telling the truth
for the Ford but are only thinking of tractors that take rims like Deere and
IHC and they would be correct for those tractors but just not for his Ford.
And for just light loads the washer fluid may work but not for the extra
heavy loades that he may be wanting to pull and need the heavier fluid. I do
know the 65 4100 and 68 4100 that i had along with the 68 5100 the washer
fluid would not have given the traction I needed on heavy loads as I had
CaCi in tires along with 3 sets per wheel of the cast weights made for those
tractors, Something to just think about and replacement rims just might not
be an option to even consider.
