Made in Manchester, England. They were up there with Ruston and Hornsby for building those style of engines. We had a very large diesel Ruston driving the DC generator in the company where I served my apprenticeship, started it with air from a storage cylinder every morning. If the air leaked out it was all hands to the cranks, two strong men on each of the two handles, No need to go to the gym in those days. :0) The two flywheels were around six feet across.
