My grandfather was on Wake Island as a civilian working for the contractor Morrison Knutson building a runway for PanAm airlines when the Kito Butai attacked Pearl Harbor. He spent the next few weeks fighting off the Japanese, but was eventually captured. He spent the next four years as a SLAVE to the Japanese. He endured the brutality that goes hand in hand with slavery. After the war, he came home and farmed for fifty years.
He drove Toyota vehicles. He understood that the society that willingly enslaved him was not the same society of today. Japan is one of our closest allies in Asia. And yet guys come on here and claim they will never own Japanese cars. Do they hold Germany and Italy in the same regard? Crazy.
