When they start to build something the way ya want or need then i might think about BUYING . With you you have no idea w3hat it takes . Like most people that go waist money on a junk 1/2 ton glorified car with a bed on it then com on here wanting to know if ya can haul a 7000 lb tractor on a 7000 lb rated trailer being a whimmpy socall pick up. And you don't even have the mechanical skills to make and old chunk of iron run . Your 100% correcrt i have made changes to darn near anything and everything to please myself and to do what i needed it to do . NO i don't care for the NEW ORDER . The old way was far better , one did not need a computer to tell you what is wrong . Stuff was easier to fix . cost far less and got the job done . Do i want a NEW pick up NOPE don't like any of them . Ya can get a standard transmission anymore and i plum hate automatic's , can you rebuild a automatic ???? i can . But even today they still on make two even After all the wizz kids have changed this and that they still only make two automatic's and those two are the one that is out and the one that is going out The reason for these Autoatic transmissions is for the people like you that can't walk across the street chewing bubble gum walk a straight line and pat your head all at the same time , You need all the fancy stuff in your toy truck just to get down the road and find your way , ya can't live with out GPS your text messages A/C P/S leather seats p/w . I gave 2 K out the door for my first 3/4 ton , next one was 4 k the next one was over 10 k and in the first year i only got to drive it five of the 12 months because it was in the shop the rest of the time and when the Warranty was up it was still giving me fits til the day i tore into that truck myself and FIXED all the problems myself , fist to go was the junk engine , next up was scatter the transmission out across the bench and BUILD a better transmission , scrap out the traction lock rear end and rebuild it with a rock solid unit , find and fix the nagging dead short that w2ould just shut the truck down while driving as they never cold find that . Three weeks of work and i got five more years out of that mess till the transmission went once again , But my rebuild lasted FIVE years not the one to five weeks of theres And that was my last NEW STORE bought truck . So NOW when i decide i want a new to me truck i know going in that i will have to fix it to get what i want and no fighting over warranty , no payments no fighting with a dealer or the hassle tryen to get the best deal and waisting HOURS tryen to deal . And i don't care how much ya try they will never come up with a tiny engine that will do hard work and live . It will get you to the store but it will never last working full load over the long haul . THE OLD SCHOOL IRON HAULERS had a saying , if your going to haul IRON then it take IRON to haul it with and the old school big block v 8's were the way to go up to a point then the inline 6 cyl. diesels was the way to go , every diesel engine MFG. tried the V 8's and not one of them got the job done vary well. Ya could ge a Mack V 8 to run but not last , Cat tried in truck engines only to find out that and inline lasted longer pulled better , Detroit was never in the game no matter what we all tried to get out of them.

Today's Featured Article - Field Modifications (Sins of the Farmer) - by Staff. Picture a new Chevrolet driving down the street without it's grill, right fender and trunk lid. Imagine a crude hole made in the hood to accommodate a new taller air cleaner, the fender wells cut away to make way for larger tires, and half of a sliding glass door used to replace the windshield. Top that off with an old set of '36 Ford headlight shells bolted to the hood. Pretty unlikely for a car... but for a tractor, this is pretty normal. It seems that more often than not they a ...
