We found her on Craigslist about 20 miles from us. I had been looking fairly regular there for a couple of months, plus at some local county shelters. Our two previous pups were also found on Craigslist. There were also adult dogs that we found available, but we knew that a puppy would fit into our situation here with two older dogs. During our search I am guessing we called 5 or 6 people. Female pups were less plentiful than males. We like the Aussie breed too, and have learned over time some questions to ask. As many here have said, talking with someone can often reveal if the seller seems honest and true or not so much. We have need lucky in that I'd say.
