Hi. I could use some wisdom here. I have a Ford 3000. Runs great usually, but the Battery was weak for a year and I often had to jump it, so today I replaced it. It s 25 degrees out and I finally just bought a new battery. I install it, it cranked for 30 secs and finally starts. (Hasn t been started in 7-8 weeks). I shut it down, tried it again, starter spun, but didn t engage flywheel. Just buzzed. So I shut it down real quick. Hit it again after 5 seconds..same thing. Starter is spinning but didn t engage. Waited a minute, then did it again. It started cranking normally but this time, would not stop cranking. EVEN AFTER SHUTTING OFF YHE KEY.. I yanked off negative terminal and got it shut downbut dang. Freaked me out. Starter is newer. Battery is new. If I recall, starter switch is newer. My Only guesstimate is Solenoid. Can anyone validate this issue and offer a solution??? I appreciate any help on this. Thanks.
