was kinda thinkin along the same lines but using a v-6 out of a dodge minivan with the slushbox (should be plentifull in junkyard) the drive shafts (coming out of the xmission) are at road speed, if you then position engine as it should be in a tractor, run this shaft back to a pick up rear end, (shorten the width) you will get whatever reduction the pumpkin has (say 4.00 to one, now what was 40 mph in the van is now 10 mph) i wanted to run the other drive shaft to the front, and use a front axle as well and have 4x4. the slushbox gives you the shuttle shift if you plan on backing up alot (like with a loader).
