My cadillac is a 6 cylinder and sometimes 4 cylinder. Synthetic oil is critical and so is tier 4 fuel. Synthetic oil is changed every 6k. Conventional oil was changed every 3k when I bought a new 2005 buick and 2007 GMC truck.
It's your money. I use the cheapest oil in my old tractors and old lawn mowers. I will use what Kubota recommends for my new tractor. Kubota will service the tractor until it is 5 years old, the power train warranty is 5 years.
I think today's cheap oil is better than the oil 50 years ago.
