I'm on the north edge of Mankato. I've had a snowthrower on one of my Deere garden tractors since August; I'm waiting to put the thrower on my other Deere because I need to use the mower to mulch leaves, many of which still are clinging to the trees. I may put the tire chains on before taking off the mower deck, because the chains can be a pain to install with cold hands. I checked my multiple outdoor-cat heat lamps and heat mats a couple of weeks ago, and my cat/bird/squirrel/deer heated water pans are ready to plug in soon. I've also stocked up on about 600 pounds of bird/squirrel/deer feed, which I hope will last to the first of the year. Mornings are definitely feeling like winter is nearby; days with sunshine remain pretty pleasant.
