Mileage requirements and 0.001 vs 0.01 manufacturing tolerances. My Dodge (Ram) Hemi owner's manual said that 5W-20 (0-20 ok obviously....Mobil 1) was the only oil to use as the oil pump was designed for it....probably high volume vs low volume like tractors/diesels use with their thicker oil....or the 4-8-4 cylinder deactivation system wouldn't work correctly. I had a hard time getting used to that as I have been a heavy oil is better guy all my life.....yeah I know startups are the worst wear items on engines so you need thin oil for that.
