I did, as and near as I can tell, the ball shank goes thru a hole in the horizontal leg of each angle iron. Sandwiched between the shank nut and the upside down drawbar.
The vertical leg of each angle iron being cut back to accommodate.
And I would bet the other end of the irons are bolted down via the bed bolts or thru the bed and into the frame.
