What would be the correct pour-able Oil/grease capacity in front pedestal on a 1952 John Deere B? If using 90 wt. oil filled to bottom of sector gear it just leaks out at bottom of pedestal. Others have used a thicker lubricant (grease/oil mix etc.) as not to leak out at bottom of pedestal. Again, does the entire pedestal need to be filled with a pour able grease/oil or "just" fill from top to bottom of sector gear as well and then lube bottom bushing and steel ring? P.S If entire pedestal needs to be filled would it make sense to warm the grease or heavy oil so it pours or just rely on grease from sector gear area to migrate downward to lower bushing?
