if you ever run over corn stalks you would understand ,,. some tractor engines have the filter right in harms way,i know of a new 275 mf that ruined the engine from a pin hole caused by a cornstalk while probably turning in a muddy cornfield.dark night old fella just got his new 275 and went out flail chopping stalks ,when he saw the red light on dash, he simply thought it was for his bright lights indicator, the engine seized. Massey dealer pulled some stringsand got him a new engine, and most 275 s have a metal cage for the oil filter //// as far as 2000 Ford,I would bet the filter was overtight and compromised the o ring,a mighty burst of hotoil pressure can occur ,, Consider yourself lucky you saw white smoke,and hopefullyt had good sense to shut down
