Breakaway couplers, and you're not going to find anything commercially available other than the "tin" ones you don't like.
Modern tractors all come with breakaway couplers from the factory, as it's a safety issue now so there's not a lot of market for the aftermarket.
I guess you could find yourself some breakaway couplers off of an IH 66/86/88 series. Hopefully ones that have been converted to Pioneer. They are a bit more robust than the "tin" ones and aren't the "cast" ones you also don't like.
