Prepping ground for early fall seeded alfalfa.Plants need to be up a couple inches before first frost which could be as early as mid to late September.
This field was previously in grass hay.Sod was rototilled then moldboard plowed.I am doing first pass over plowed ground with a Kuhn power harrow.Will get one more pass with power harrow.Then a land plane if necessary.Then seed and inputs.Finally rolled and packed.Idea is for field to be smooth as a billiard table for high speed cutting and raking of hay.
