Finally found up what was wrong with loader when feathering to go up or down, the loader would go the opposite direction for a bit. Thought it was the valve on the loader. Replacing the valve did not solve the problem. Had tractor, 4020 Jd, hydraulics checked by dealer. Was okay. The loader would function normally when moving the valve fully, not feathering. GB loader.
Problem was with the loader cylinders. One of the cylinders internal seal on piston was failed, but not enough to render loader unuseable, but not with full power. Both cylinders were replaced as could not obtain original spec cylinder.
Don't know how to understand or explain hydraulically how it worked as it did.
