Being it's new to you, I would run it a while, drive it around, put a load on it if possible. Watch the temperature and coolant level, check out the rest of the functions, listen, feel, observe, make a list of everything you find.
Get an idea what all it will take to get it where you want it. If it has to come apart, better to do everything at once that take it apart again!
By then you will have a better idea of the water out the exhaust. If it continues even when warmed up, mystery coolant loss (but don't overfill it, keep the level just above the core openings), misfire, coolant in the oil, blowing coolant out the radiator, then there is a problem.
You can also run a combustion gas detector test, a chemical that changes color when it detects combustion gasses in the radiator.
