I have never saw a plow without the tail wheel and nothinin owners instructions eithe about one without the tail wheel. That spring loading is to let the plow drop to plowing depth sooner as it will let the botton go down into the ground faster than one with just a long land side that I have never saw on either a Ferguson or Dearborn plow. I do have the plow that Dad bought new with the tractor in May of 1944. And all orignal manuals. Cannot give model number as tractor and plow stored 50 mile away at friends and have not seen then for a couple of years.
