Todays Steamer and Tower have a mining theme, gold mining in Australia. My mothers family worked in the coal mines of the English Midlands and other family members in the gold fields of Australia.
One cousin in the 1880's was killed in a mining accident whilst working as a mechanic. They were changing the cable on the cage which lower the diggers into the earth and the cage was resting on two beams, over the 1000ft deep shaft. The beams broke and the cage and men fell to the bottom.
