I worked with a lot of former marines who came out west from the east coast to Oceanside California. Camp Pendleton is just outside of Oceanside. Most of the base is on the beach. So many stayed when they got out, because of the good weather. There is a few hot days, but the winter is much easier. So what do I do? I join the Navy, and am sent to the Great Lakes Navy Boot Camp in the winter, and Memphis Tennessee for school in the summer. Stan
