The hay getting too tall is a be problem for direct combining, but grain cut with the swather and left to dry a few days, just goes through the combine like gas through a funnel. I swathed 50 acres for a neighbour a few years ago. He was about ready to give up on the crop, after plugging his combine several times. A friend told him how I swathed all of my grain and give me a call. So I cut his crop, and he located a pickup head for his combine. He just couldnt believe how well the grain went through the combine, and I was able to cut it down low enough to save the straw too.
