Thats helpful, but, I can't get mine to budge either direction with either shaft in.
What's odd is that I'm 99% sure mine is stuck in 1K position and the 540 shaft goes in.
I can't see how that could be, unless it's possible for the pin which blocks the shift collar from going into 1K when the longer 540 shaft is in can end up on the wrong side of the shift collar, so you're in 1K *and* you have to line up the splines *and* get the shift collar over the pin while pulling the shift rail forward.
I don't see how the pin could escape. I don't see that the plunger at the back of the PTO housing is moving in or out, either, it appears that it's pushed all the way back, as if the 540 shaft were in. I suppose the snap ring at the back of the shaft could have come out, but that seems unlikely.
