When you say the same shape does that mean in good condition or otherwise? For light duty I would think that the 8440 would use considerably less fuel. If original and 1980 and after would mean crankshaft driven oil pump for the engine which is a plus. I've gotten along fairly well with an 8430 that has been here since 1980 but has a 50 series replacement engine. Be prepared for many to say to look at something else. Used to be quite a number of 8000 series 4wd tractors around and it was not because the owners wore green and yellow underwear. The early 4wd's all had their problems regardless of brand and model.
