It sounds like you need to do some diagnostics. Do the pto, 3pt, remotes, or brakes function properly? Or is only the steering? The only reason you would have to do a split is if the pressure plate splines that drive the pump and pto were stripped. Replacing the hydraulic pump does not require a split. Mark.
