That stinks on something not that old ! We have a PJ gooseneck thats from early 2000s and the powder coat is peeling here and there. Never sees the winter. We take stuff at work to a place locally that specializes in powder coating. They say one of the biggest things is metal prep before the coating. They sandblast and clean new steel before coating. I agree with them. Have you ever taken a new piece of steel and ground it a little with a flap wheel ? There is definetly a thin coating on it. Powder coat shop says thats why a lot of power coat fails. Bad prep ! Still not something nice to find !
