Your link is no good, but you must be talking about one of these, in the 1st link. It is supposed to separate. Might try a 5 or so wraps of kite string where they separated. Actually you can gat them at your CaseIH dealer or whatever they call themselves if you have one nearby, see 2nd link. That probably will not help you before Tuesday if that is what you need.
