Due to the normally short life of the lead acid 6 volt batteries, I went to the Optima on two of my tractors, one of which is a 1951 JD AR which is 12 volt but uses two batteries which are separated so I use two 6 volts. I really like them. I just fired up one of the tractors which is 6 volt and had been sitting in the shed for about eight months since last started and the battery seemed to be at full charge and worked fine. I also like the way they avoid corroding the battery boxes and cables. I have had them for about 3-4 years.
